Membership to the In Country Vietnam Motorcycle Club shall be open to citizens of the United States and from countries allied with the United States during the Vietnam War and who meet the following requirements.
A: Those who physically served in country in Vietnam or in Its' territorial waters and who have a DD-214 reflecting that service by award of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal – Vietnam (1 July 1958 - 3 July 1965) or Vietnam Service Medal (4 July 1965 – 28 March 1973).
B: Ownership of a street legal, insured motorcycle of at least 500cc except that each Chapter may Recruit one (1) non-riding member based on inability to ride due to age or disability.
ICVMC DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ANY APPLICANT SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF RACE, RELIGION, SEX, OR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
All interested members will be required to complete a “Hang Around” period of at least 2 months and attend a minimum of 2 club meetings during that time. This “Hang Around” period is for current members to evaluate a potential member and allows potential members to become acquainted with current members, club protocols, the club mission and the purpose of the clubs' existence.
2. A Copy of the DD-214 which reflects award of the required medal.
3. A completed SF-180 signed in the appropriate space.
4. An Irrevocable Consent concerning ownership of club patches.
5. A 1” by 1” head and shoulders photo (Can be a copy of the front of a drivers license or ID Card).
6. A Money Order in the amount of $120.00 to cover processing and initiation fees and first year dues. (This is non-refundable)
Will Not be subject to harassment, ridicule or embarrassment from patched members. This is not a prospecting period. You did your prospecting in Vietnam. However, during the probationary period, your attitude, commitment, riding abilities, and participation will be observed by all patched members.
At the end of the probationary period, a majority vote of the patched members will decide if an applicant advances to a Fully Patched Member.
If a majority of patched members do not feel an applicant is ready, the applicant may be asked to relinquish their colors and depart or, they may be given an additional period of probation to correct any problems. If a majority of patched members agree that an applicant has met all expectations and is a definite asset to the club, that applicant will be Issued the remainder of the mandatory club patches and will be deemed a Fully Patched Member.
All patches Issued to members and applicants remain the property of the ICVMC forever and must be returned upon termination or death of a member or applicant.
